Mr. Clean, Mr. Clean

One thing I've figured out is that having a child means cleaning up a lot of messes. Food under the high chair, dirt brought in by little feet, and Goldfish crumbs on the carpet. The dust buster is my new BFF (best friend forever)! .

Levi also enjoys cleaning with the dust buster. Some might say that toddlers shouldn't play with appliances, and normally I would agree. But, who couldn't use a little extra help cleaning their house? So I say, "Levi, go for it!". Here's a video of mommy's little helper.

The First of Many

Levi is VERY active! In fact, I had to steal this snapshot while he was sleeping just so he would be still.

.

Levi got his first black eye this week...on mom's watch. :) He loves to climb on anything that isn't moving including furniture, toilets, Grandpa's lawn mover, and yes even the golf cart. He can usually negotiate the step down by scooting on his belly and lowering himself gently to the ground. But, this time our little dare devil took it feet first and stepped off as though the descent were 2 inches and not 2 feet. He came down with a crash and hit his eye on the corner of the cart. And he hit hard...ouch!

The irony of all of this is the "eye incident" happened one hour after our social worker completed her first post-adoption visit. You know, the visit where they determine how well you are caring for your newly adopted child. Whew! Didn't want to have to explain that one.

I have a funny feeling that this will be the first of many boo-boo's that Omma (Mommy) has to kiss for our sweet boy. But that's Ok, I don't mind! :)

Our Happy Boy!

Have you seen this baby yet? Her video has gotten over 12 million hits on You Tube, and the family was featured on Good Morning America. What is all the craze, you ask? This baby girl is laughing hysterically as her father rips up a job rejection letter and then a credit card statement. I have to admit, it is pretty cute....

.
...but, she's got nuthin on our Levi! He loves to smile and laugh, and he basically lays on the couch or floor just begging for you to tickle him. We tickle him so hard that if it weren't for his diaper, he would wet his pants! That's our happy boy!

Don't Squeeze the Charmin!

Have you ever walked out of a public restroom with toilet paper dragging from your shoe? Come on....admit it. Once at a ninth grade choir concert, I walked out of the bathroom onto the stage with the entire back half of my taffeta choir dress tucked into my pantyhose, but that is a story for another blog entry. ;)
.
Levi has been dying to get at the toilet paper roll! We forget to close the bathroom door just once, and he seizes the opportunity. I came out of the laundry room after folding some clothes to discover my son with the TP unrolled from one end of the house to the other. And the funniest part was a whole bunch of it was stuck to his left foot. He was cracking himself up dragging around the paper "ball and chain" . I know I should have disciplined him for such silly and uncivilized behavior, but instead I took a picture of the cutie pie!

Life on the Compound...

We jokingly call the acreage we live on the "Williams Compound". (No...we aren't stock piling guns, and no one has more than one wife.) We call it this because there are quite a few Williams living on one piece of land. We are blessed to have so much space outside for Levi for run, play, explore, and just do what little boys do. Here are few pics from Levi's first outing on the compound.

Rummaging through the leaves...hope he doesn't have momma's allergies. :)

First trip to the trampoline!

He's wondering, "How do I get in the chicken coup to play?"

God Bless the USA!

I love this picture! Levi is mesmerized by Randy Jackson on American Idol. He has his bottle in one hand, remote control in the other. Just like a man!

Levi is becoming more "Americanized" every day. For instance, he has already taken his first trip to Wally World (Walmart) and the Golden Arches (McDonalds). It doesn't get any more American than that. :)

And, I realize baseball is the favorite American past time, but in my household, the men play golf. So...it only seemed appropriate for Levi to have his own set of clubs and his very own golf cart. We won't let him drive it (for obvious reasons!) but for now he is content to just push it. At least until Daddy takes him to play his first 18 holes.

Our new life begins

I follow several adoption blogs, and I've always wondered, "Why doesn't anyone update their blog once they're home?". Well, now I know...no time!
.
Levi is an absolute joy! He is adjusting light years ahead of schedule. He adores his mommy and daddy, loves playing outside, and eats everything put in front of him. We have a little work to do to get his sleeping schedule in tune with the Central time zone, but that is to be expected with a 15 hour time difference between here and Seoul.
.
Our day now consists of changing diapers, feedings, playing, and wondering how we ever lived without this little bundle of energy. Our days are definitely different than before he came home, but I think Adam put it best yesterday when he said, "I love our new life." Yeah, me too. :)

Home at Last!

We are finally home! I've never been so happy to see the Hunt County Line in all my life!
.
After my last post, Levi had another major meltdown in the hotel room, and this one lasted 5-6 hours. He screamed for his Omma (foster mom). He could not be consoled with toys, food, or even piggyback rides. My heart just broke for him because I wanted more than anything to fix it for him.
.
Adam and I were wondering how we were going to make a 12 hour flight with a screaming toddler. I figured the pilot would make an emergency landing in California and escort all three of us off the plane for the sake of the other passengers!
.
But, the next morning (praise the Lord!), Levi woke up an entirely different baby. I think he reasoned, "Well, it looks like I'm stuck with the two of you so I might as well make the best of it." He did amazing in the airport and on the plane! At DFW after going through customs and immigration, we were met by group of friends and family waving American flags and welcoming home our son!
